Walmart Has a New $3 Snack, and Fans Say ‘Give Me 14’ Boxes

The thing about cereal is that there aren’t any rules to it. Anything goes. You can mix two kinds of cereal together for a mouthful of flavor, add your favorite cereal to trail mix, or eat a seasonal favorite straight from the box.

This year, cereal brands have been releasing some unexpected flavors reminiscent of other sweet treats, from milkshakes to ice pops to birthday cake.

And now Walmart has entered the cereal chat with its Great Value brand. There’s a new dessert-inspired cereal flavor hitting shelves, and shoppers are already planning to buy in bulk.

Walmart Releases New Red Velvet Cake Cereal 

Walmart just added a limited-edition Great Value Red Velvet Cake to the cereal aisle. The new flavor is inspired by the signature crimson layer cake. Featuring a cocoa and vanilla flavor, each spoonful will taste like you’re taking a bite of the decadent dessert. 

The 16-ounce box is available at Walmart for less than $3, and even though it’s new to shelves, shoppers online are already raving about the Red Velvet Cake cereal. On Instagram, food fan @markie_devo shared the news, and shoppers were instantly eager to try it.

“You had me at red velvet,” said one person.

“Fantastic, give me 14 of them right now,” wrote another.

Fans on Reddit were also pleased with the new cereal flavor. “This really is a winner if you actually like red velvet, or if you’re interested in a crunchy cereal that’s not gonna make your teeth hurt,” one Redditor wrote.

“I love red velvet,” said another fan. “I’m eagerly awaiting my store to get this.”
