Comfort food season is finally here, which means it’s time to dish out all of your favorite fail-proof casseroles, hearty soups, and cozy desserts. And while homemade meals are always worth the effort, sometimes you just want that same comfort without spending hours in the kitchen. Luckily, there are plenty of easy, ready-to-eat options at the grocery store this season to keep the whole house satisfied.
Recently, Trader Joe’s dropped two new microwave-friendly entrées that fans couldn’t stop gushing over. Now, shoppers are singing the praises of a prepared Aldi meal that’s quickly becoming a go-to dinner for chilly fall nights.
Aldi’s Bremer Shepherd’s Pie
Shoppers can’t get enough of Bremer Shepherd’s Pie, a private-label frozen entrĂ©e. The nostalgic-looking dish features seasoned ground beef and vegetables in a savory tomato sauce. As with all shepherd’s pie recipes, it’s garnished with a buttery potato topping, but we can’t help but notice that Aldi went the extra mile and piped the mashed potatoes into an aesthetically pleasing design for extra flair.Â

Each 30-ounce box contains four servings, though some Redditors have reported that they’ve had a hard time stopping at one portion. “I had to quit buying it. I can’t stop eating it. I eat the whole thing,” said one fan. “That’s good stuff, huh? I have to laugh at your comment because I’ve tried putting the rest away in the fridge for ‘tomorrow’s supper.’ That didn’t work very well at all!” one person replied.
Another chimed in to award the dish one of the biggest compliments you can bestow upon a store-bought meal: “It really tastes like homemade!” they exclaimed.Â
In a separate thread, the glowing reviews just kept rolling in. “Hands down our favorite easy meal to do when we are feeling lazy and it’s cool outside,” said one Aldi shopper. “This and a bagged salad is absolutely unstoppable as a lazy weeknight meal,” added another.Â
Beyond flavor, many applauded the meal for its affordability. “This has no right being as good as it is. And for $6.97? Bonkers!” said the thread’s original poster. Another co-signed the sentiment, writing, “Been loving it for like ten years now. Price is amazing too.”
It’s important to note that the price of this savory pie may vary by location. But with ground beef prices increasing and sometimes even surpassing the price of this all-in-one meal, this definitely feels like a stock-up-worthy find.
