I wish I could say that working at Allrecipes is the reason that I begin celebrating the holiday season early, but, I’ve always been one to listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving. Sure, my job means my first sip of peppermint mocha or bite of Christmas cookie might come in September, but Allrecipes also didn’t force me to watch “A Very Jonas Christmas Movie” on Nov. 14 or put my tree up on Nov. 1. That’s just free will.

However, I’m not the only one who looks forward to the holiday season all year. Fans wait months for Chick-fil-A’s Chicken Tortilla Soup and Peppermint Chip Shake to hit menus, and they beg Pillsbury to make the wintery Hot Cocoa Rolls available year-round.

Now, Shake Shack is appeasing its fans by bringing back one of its most popular menu items—plus, introducing two new ones for the holiday season.

Shake Shack’s 2025 Holiday Shake Menu

Shake Shack’s Christmas Cookie Shake, which has been a staple for years, is officially back on menus. This year, the sugar cookie-flavored shake is joined by two new additions: the Sticky Toffee Pudding Shake and the Peppermint Bark Chocolate Shake.

As in previous years, the Christmas Cookie Shake is made with sugar cookie-flavored custard and topped with whipped cream and holiday sprinkles. It’s simple, but a holiday classic for a reason.

A Sticky Toffee Pudding Shake was previously available in Shake Shack’s international market, but the new U.S. shake features real sticky toffee pudding blended with vanilla custard and caramelized brown sugar. The shake is topped with whipped cream and a sticky toffee pudding sauce.

Last, but certainly not least, Shake Shack is drawing inspiration from its viral Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake by bringing back its “crackable” cup in the new Peppermint Bark Chocolate Shake. The minty shake is made with chocolate frozen custard and mint chocolate fudge, poured into a cup lined with a crackable white chocolate peppermint bark shell and topped with whipped cream and peppermint candy bits.

All three shakes are available at Shacks across the country now for a limited time. I tried the trio and here is my honest review.

My Honest Review of Shake Shack’s Holiday Shakes

Bailey Fink

There’s a good reason that Shake Shack won our fast food milkshake taste test: its shakes are exceptionally high quality and delicious. The frozen custard shakes are thick, yet silky in texture, and the Shake Shack R&D team produces amazing flavors.

The Christmas Cookie Shake is one I get every year, and still love. It’s ultra-sweet, but that first sip of the sugary, vanilla cookie flavor means the holidays have arrived.

Shake Shack’s new Sticky Toffee Pudding Shake is a pleasant surprise. The brown sugar and warming spice flavors make this dessert taste like Christmas in a cup. But it’s not your traditional holiday-flavored menu item, so it’s perfect if you want a break from the mint, eggnog, or sugar cookie flavors of the season.

I loved the novelty of Shake Shack’s cracking cup for its Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake, but it also added a delicious layer of chocolate pieces that made sense for the texture of Dubai chocolate. In the Peppermint Bark Chocolate Shake, you’ve got the same thing. The cracking outer layer of white chocolate and peppermint candies is reminiscent of real peppermint bark, found inside the cup with chocolate custard and minty fudge.

However, even with all the minty elements, the flavor isn’t overwhelming. The chocolate custard and dark chocolate fudge add a rich, decadent flavor with just the perfect amount of mint.

This holiday menu has something for everyone to pair with their favorite Shake Shack burger and crinkle-cut fries.
