At the start of this football season, had you said the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears would be beating teams like the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, and Detroit Lions, only the most diehard of fans for those teams would say, “I knew it!” But it’s been a tumultuous year for quite a few NFL teams, and the playoff picture is still wide open.Â
Even with plenty of ball left to play, the advertising world doesn’t stop, and brands are already announcing ad spots in Super Bowl LX. So, while we don’t know which teams will be playing in Santa Clara, California, we do know that some of our favorite brands, like Kinder Bueno, Nerds, and GrubHub, will be running ads during the Big Game.Â
Now, Ritz has announced it will return to the screen on Feb. 8 with its third consecutive commercial. Ritz is tight-lipped about what the commercial will look like, but MondelÄ“z International’s Category President for Savory Snacking says it will “set the play for more game-changing things to come from the Ritz brand.”
The first of those “game-changing things” is actually set to hit shelves soon, with Ritz releasing a new football shape to get fans excited for Super Bowl snacking.
Ritz Launches New Football-Shaped Cracker
Allrecipes / Ritz
Before you start to question your sanity, thinking that Ritz has had a football cracker in the past, yes, the brand has sold a football-themed cracker before, but it was not football-shaped. And there are other football-shaped crackers out there—namely, Kellanova’s Town House crackers—so you’ve seen something similar, but never this limited-time offering.Â
Ritz has previously sold its buttery, salty crackers with a football design embossed into the snack. Now, the brand is going full-blown Reese’s by changing up the shape of its actual cracker.Â
The new limited-edition Football Shapes are the same rich, buttery, salty, crunchy Ritz cracker that you love, just in a new design that will stand out at your tailgate or Super Bowl party. Ritz’s first-ever football-shaped cracker features the classic cracker holes, plus a new imprinted design to look like the laces of a football.Â
The new Football Shapes will look (and taste) great atop your charcuterie board or as a side to your favorite football dips. And, you won’t have to wait until the new year to try them. Ritz is releasing its new football-shaped crackers on Dec. 1, so you can even grab a box to enjoy with all your favorite bowl games this winter.
The new football-shaped Ritz won’t be around forever, but it should last you until we hit the off-season.
