Every Reese’s fan knows the truth: seasonal shapes are superior. It’s not even up for debate anymore—it’s fully accepted on all sides. And it all comes down to balance. Compared to standard Reese’s Cups, the shapes have a higher peanut butter-to-chocolate ratio that hits the perfect salty-sweet spot.

There’s also something about the texture. The shapes have smoother, rounded edges, so the chocolate never pools into a thick, solid bite the way it does in the sharp corners of the classic cups. The result is a softer, creamier chew that somehow makes every bite taste fresher. Coupled with the thrill of a limited-time release, you’ve got the ultimate Reese’s upgrade.

Reese’s knows it has something special on its hands, which is why the shaped collection only keeps growing—with Carrots, Medals, and even Peanuts.

Still, nothing tops the excitement of the shape that rounds out the calendar year: the beloved Reese’s Trees. Introduced more than 30 years ago, the trees have become a holiday tradition in their own right.

And this year, Reese’s is giving the classic shape a brand-new spin that, somehow, makes peanut butter and chocolate even more snackable than before.

Reese’s Launches New Mini Trees Unwrapped

This season, The Hershey Company is gifting us a new way to enjoy its iconic Reese’s Trees: by the handful. The new Mini Trees Unwrapped have already been spotted in stores, and fans are saying their “childhood dreams have finally come true.”

The new candy takes the traditional tree shape—complete with its soft chocolate shell and creamy peanut butter filling—and shrinks it down to a super snackable size. Instead of individual wrappers, the mini chocolates come tossed together in a resealable pouch, creating a holiday candy stash that’s dangerously easy to keep coming back to.

This isn’t the first time Reese’s has stepped out of the wrapper. After Reese’s Minis Unwrapped became a long-time favorite, the brand started experimenting with seasonal versions. Mini Eggs Unwrapped arrived last year, followed by Mini Pumpkins Unwrapped earlier this season. And now, with the debut of the Mini Trees, the trio of classic holiday shapes is complete.

Unsurprisingly, the unwrapped versions have been an immediate hit. Fans say the mini size preserves the all-important peanut butter ratio—and makes them almost too easy to snack on endlessly. As one fan put it, you could “eat the whole bag like popcorn.” (We wouldn’t necessarily recommend that—but we can’t say it hasn’t been done before.)

“I’ve been obsessed with the mini pumpkins, so I need these,” another fan shared. “That’s gonna be a game changer for the holidays,” another Instagrammer posted.

Reese’s Mini Trees Unwrapped are available in king-size bags perfect for sharing and 7.6-ounce bags perfect for…well, maybe not sharing. So far, they’ve been spotted at Hy-Vee and CVS, and they’ll only be around for a limited run over the next few months.

So if you thought Reese’s shaped treats couldn’t get any better, consider this your early holiday gift from Hershey’s.
