Popeyes Is Releasing a First-Of-Its-Kind Chicken Sandwich—Plus 2 More Menu Items

Popeyes has always known how to draw attention from the internet. Its chicken sandwich debut in 2019 practically broke social media. It sparked a years-long “chicken sandwich war” as chains scrambled to add a crispy chicken sandwich to their menus or modify existing sandwiches to compete with Popeyes. 

Since then, the fried chicken chain has gone viral multiple times, notably with its chicken wraps, which debuted on menus just weeks before McDonald’s Snack Wraps, and its pickle-themed menu. Now, Popeyes is expanding its online presence by teaming up with one of the biggest internet shows there is: Hot Ones.

Popeyes Debuts Hot Ones Menu

Hot Ones is a popular YouTube series known as “the show with hot questions and even hotter wings.” Now, it’s bringing those spicy flavors to Popeyes. For the first time ever, you can take the Hot Ones challenge at the drive-thru. 

Hot Ones and Popeyes have teamed up for three new menu items, including a chicken sandwich, that feature Hot Ones’ signature hot sauces. And, because no Hot Ones menu would be complete without it, the fast food chain is offering Hot Ones’ spiciest offering, The Last Dab hot sauce, in small packets so you, too, can tackle the “wing of death.”

The new menu includes mild Sizzlin’ Sriracha Dippers, a medium Smokin’ Rojo Sandwich, and hot Darin’ Dab Ghost Wings, along with the extra-hot The Last Dab packet. 

The Sizzlin’ Sriracha Dippers expand on Popeyes’ newly introduced Chicken Dippers. The chicken strips are marinated in pickled garlic sriracha before being fried until crispy and served with Buttermilk Ranch and a Hot Ones Sriracha packet. 

The new Smokin’ Rojo Sandwich features the beloved crispy chicken fillet topped with Hot Ones’ Los Calientes Rojo spread and pickles on a brioche bun. Popeyes’ new wings start with a Ghost Pepper dry rub and are served with a Hot Ones Last Dab Ranch dip cup. The Darin’ Dab Ghost Wings can be ordered both boneless or bone-in.

For those brave enough, the Last Dab packet can be ordered à la carte for a $1 upcharge.

The Popeyes x Hot Ones menu is available now for a limited time. The new menu items can be ordered on their own or as part of the Popeyes x Hot Ones bundle, which features the Chicken Dippers, sandwich, and wings for $16.99.
