In the world of snack innovation, some brands really go for it—in the best way. Cinnamon Toast Crunch got into the bacon business this year. Kroger is winning the best game day potato chip flavor competition. And we still have questions about this Fruity Pebbles collab.

Pop-Tarts likes to get funky, too. Remember those teeny, tiny pastries on top of Krispy Kreme doughnuts? Or the pool float of summer? The brand seems to work hard, play hard. 2025 has been studded with the return of cherished and long-lost Pop-Tarts flavors—again and again and again.

The toaster pastry empire has been busy releasing new, exciting flavors, as well as brand-new ways to experience the OG Frosted Strawberry, from the freezer aisle to the drive-thru.

What’s more, Pop-Tarts isn’t slowing down just yet. Today, the brand announced a new, first-of-its-kind lineup of snack pastries. These new products look like Pop-Tarts, but with one major change.

Pop-Tarts Introduces New Protein Lineup of Snack Pastries

Say hello to Pop-Tarts Protein, a brand-new series of toaster pastries that taps into the on-going protein trend that has taken over the freezer aisle, the cereal aisle, and even the drive-thru.

Pop-Tarts

According to Kellanova, the parent company of Pop-Tarts, this lineup will feature “10 grams of protein per serving, while staying true to the Pop-Tarts flavor fans crave.” For context, the classic Pop-Tarts Frosted Strawberry pastry snack only has three grams of protein per serving.

Pop-Tarts Protein will debut with the following three (extremely familiar) flavors:

  • Slammin’ Strawberry: Similar to the classic Pop-Tarts Frosted Strawberry, this protein-boosted version will feature tart strawberry filling, a golden crust, and frosting topped with those signature rainbow sprinkles.
  • Boostin’ Brown Sugar Cinnamon: Inspired by the timeless, fan-favorite Pop-Tarts Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon, this version features a gooey brown sugar cinnamon filling, golden-brown crust, and a crisp, sweet frosting finish.
  • Bumpin’ Blueberry: Similar to Pop-Tarts Frosted Blueberry, this protein-boosted version will feature a jam-like blueberry center, sweet icing, and crunchy sprinkles.

“We’re thrilled to introduce Pop-Tarts Protein, our boldest innovation yet,” said Leslie Serro, Vice President of Marketing for Pop-Tarts, in a press release. “It delivers the same ‘Crazy Good’ taste people love, now with a bonus of 10 grams of protein per serving.”

All three new flavors of Pop-Tarts Protein will be on shelves nationwide this November. And if the recent return of Pop-Tarts Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is any indication, the brand definitely listens to fans online. So, if you’d like to see other iconic Pop-Tarts get the protein upgrade, make your voice heard on Pop-Tarts’ social media accounts.
