I’m a firm believer that you can never have too many dip recipes in your repertoire. Whether you’re going to a potluck, hosting game day, headed to a holiday party, or borrowing an idea from one of our Allrecipes’ staffers, Victoria Heydt, and having an entire dip-themed Friendsgiving, you never know when you might need to whip up a dippable appetizer.

Plus, as TikTok user @k.rizzy put it, “being a grown-up” means “you can have whatever the bleep you want for dinner.” Her choice of “girl dinner?” A three-ingredient dip.

She calls it the “best dip ever,” saying it’s “so simple and such a crowd pleaser”—plus, according to the comments, she can eat nearly the entire pot in one sitting.

So, with rave reviews like that—and three easy ingredients—I knew this “best dip ever” would be joining my dip rotation long before I even tried it. And I was right.

The ‘Best Dip Ever,’ According to TikTok

First things first: @k.rizzy makes it very clear that this dip is three ingredients. “Not three ingredients, plus salt, pepper, seasoning, water, whatever. No, legitimately three ingredients,” she says in the video.

To make it, all you need is a block of cream cheese, two jars of Kraft Old English Spread, and green onions. If you’ve never heard of Kraft Old English Spread (I hadn’t), it’s essentially processed sharp Cheddar cheese, that’s similar to Velveeta or Cheez Whiz.

You’ll simply melt the cream cheese and Kraft Old English Spread together on the stove, either in a double boiler or a pot. Once it’s smooth and creamy, then you’ll cut in some fresh green onions and stir the dip together. Voilà, it’s ready to serve!

@k.rizzy recommends serving it with French bread, but you can also serve it with tortilla chips—or as a cheese sauce for broccoli or steak to make it more of a meal.

I tried the three-ingredient cheese dip and here is my honest review.

I Tried the Viral 3-Ingredient ‘Best Dip Ever’

For starters, Kraft Old English Spread was a bit tricky to find. Honestly, I think this dip would work with any processed cheese, but I might go with Cheez Whiz first, since it’s also made by Kraft.

Grocery list aside, this is seriously one of the easiest dips to make, as it’s ready to serve in just about five minutes. I served it with the recommended French bread, just torn straight from the loaf.

For something so simple, it’s nearly impossible to stop eating. The cheesy, creamy, slightly tangy flavors are delicious, but the green onion does a lot. It adds freshness and a touch of onion flavor to an otherwise incredibly rich, cheesy dip

I couldn’t help myself from dipping more and more pieces of bread into it—I also tried the dip with popcorn and, no surprise, it was just as tasty.

My only complaint is that as soon as the cheesy dip gets cold, it starts to solidify. So, at a party you’d need to be prepared to heat it back up—or leave it in the double boiler for easy reheating. Or even make it in the slow cooker so it stays warm.

I’d be willing to man the microwave, though, if it meant enjoying this delicious cheese dip again.
