The weather outside might not seem frightful just yet, but the brands are ready to let it snow, let it snow, let it snow as holiday launches are filling grocery shelves. We’ve seen treats galore, from new Snickerdoodle Hershey’s Kisses to Pillsbury Santa Sugar Cookies. But we can never have enough sweets at our holiday table and stuffing our stockings, so our eyes are always darting around the snack, candy, cookie, and ice cream aisle for the newest launches.
So far, we’ve been extremely spoiled by Little Debbie, which is currently celebrating the 40th anniversary of its Christmas Tree Cake. The anniversary means we’ve seen everything from Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes Coffee Creamer to holiday merchandise, and even the return of the beloved Chocolate Christmas Tree Cakes. Typically, after a big launch from Little Debbie, we expect a quick clap back from its biggest competitor, Hostess.
However, this year, Hostess took its time getting into the holiday spirit. Instead, the brand launched two new snack cakes inspired by “Wicked: For Good.” Those “thrillifying” cupcakes will be on shelves through the holiday season, but don’t worry, they aren’t replacing your favorite Hostess holiday treats.
Hostess has officially brought back its holiday lineup, including five fan-favorite snack cakes.

This year, Hostess’ holiday line features all returning items, including the Limited-Edition Snoballs Snack Cakes, Donettes Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow Mini Donuts, Chocolate Holiday Cupcakes, Yellow Holiday Cupcakes, and Limited-Edition Ho Ho Hos Snack Cakes.
The festive Snoballs are the same creme-filled chocolate cake covered in marshmallow and coconut that you know and love, just topped with white coconut shreds instead of pink to resemble an actual snowball. Both the Chocolate and Yellow Holiday Cupcakes are also the same chocolate and yellow cakes filled with creme, just with holiday green and red sprinkles on top.
While the Ho Ho Hos have a different name than the brand’s classic Ho Hos, Hostess isn’t changing a good thing. The Ho Ho Hos are your classic chocolate-covered Swiss roll, filled with bright-red filling instead of white.
The holiday treat with the biggest upgrade is Hostess’ Donettes Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow Mini Donuts. These bite-sized donuts feature a chocolate cake with a marshmallow-flavored glaze that mimics the flavors of one of our favorite warming winter beverages.
Hostess’ beloved holiday products are all available now at retailers nationwide, including Amazon Fresh. However, just like the holiday season, they’ll eventually melt away back to the North Pole, so don’t miss your chance to stock up on these festive Hostess treats before Santa Claus gets to town.
