General Mills Is Releasing an All-New Cereal for the Holidays

“Am I just eating because I’m bored?” The Grinch once asked. And, the answer is, no, it’s because it’s the holiday season, silly! The holidays are all about the feasts—whether you’re serving Roast Beast or indulging in tree-shaped candies and lots and lots of cookies. 

This year, our holiday feast seems to be growing three sizes with dozens of new products meant to celebrate the festivities. And despite The Grinch being one of the meanest, bah-humbugs of the season, so many of the new products are based on the Dr. Seuss classic.

Hershey’s expanded its Grinchy partnership with new Hershey’s Grinch Milk Chocolate Bars, joining its Grinch-themed Hershey’s Kisses, and Pillsbury brought back its beloved Grinch Shape Cookies. 

Now, General Mills is bringing the holiday icon to yet another one of its classic offerings: cereal.

General Mills Launches New Grinch Cereal

In the cereal aisle this holiday season, you’ll see The Grinch and his termite-filled smile looking out at you. But don’t worry, the cereal is anything but one of The Grinch’s smelly, favorite foods. 

The new Grinch Cereal is made with sweet, vanilla-flavored, green crunchy pieces with pink, heart-shaped marshmallows (that may or may not grow when you add milk). Essentially, it’s a Christmas version of the fan-favorite Monsters Cereal.

In addition to the cartoon Grinch on the front of the box, the back of General Mills’ Grinch Cereal features an interactive element. You’ll find a cartoon of The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who with a stack of presents that can be cut out and used as an ornament. The ornament can be hung on the tree with care as-is, or you can replace The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who’s faces with a picture of you and a loved one to make it more personal.

General Mills’ new Grinch Cereal is hitting shelves now, where it will be available at retailers nationwide for a limited time through the holidays. The cereal will be sold in a 9.3-ounce box and a family-size 15.8-ounce box, so you can share with everyone this festive season—even the biggest of Grinches.
