The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall by E.A. Sween Company of its popular Deli Express BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, regularly sold at Walmart, after discovering that some products may contain small plastic fragments.

The recall affects products with UPC 0-41433-13087-2 and several specific lot codes, which are listed below. The sandwiches were sold between Jan. 16 and Oct. 23, 2025, in convenience stores and grocery and mass retail outlets—including Walmart—across the continental U.S., Hawaii, and Guam.

E.A. Sween Company issued the voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution after plastic particles were found in some sandwiches. While there have been no reports of injuries or illnesses, swallowing plastic could cause choking or other health risks, and consumers are advised not to eat the sandwiches at this time.
