The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall by Texas-based Teasdale Foods, Inc. of certain lots of taco dinner kits that may contain undeclared milk. The recall affects two varieties of taco dinner kits sold at Aldi, Giant, and Martin’s retail stores under the brand names Martin’s, Giant, and Casa Mamita—one of Aldi’s private label names. Consuming the recalled taco kits could result in a serious or even life-threatening allergic reaction in people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk.
The recall was initiated after Teasdale Foods, Inc. received consumer complaints that the taco dinner kits contained cocoa mix packets instead of the intended taco seasoning packets. As a result, the packaging does not properly disclose the presence of milk. A subsequent investigation revealed that the taco seasoning packets were accidentally mislabeled by the third party that provides the seasoning.
How To Identify the Recalled Taco Kits
The recalled taco kits were distributed to Aldi, Giant, and Martin’s retail stores located in the following states: Alabama, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.
The affected products have the following identifying information:
- Martin’s and Giant Crunchy Taco Dinner Kit, packaged in a purple box with UPC: 68826757516; lot code 25257; and “Best if used by” date March 13, 2026 printed on the back of the package.
- Casa Mamita Soft Taco Dinner Kit; packaged in a blue and yellow box with UPC: 4099100318715; lot code 25259; and “Best if used by” date March 15, 2026 printed on the back of the package.

What To Do if You Have the Recalled Taco Kits
To date, no illnesses have been reported in association with this recall. However, since the product may contain a mislabeled seasoning packet, consumers are urged not to consume it—even if they do not have a sensitivity or allergy to milk. Instead, consumers should return it to the original place of purchase for a full refund.
