In today’s market, staying relevant as a food brand isn’t just about dropping seasonal flavors right on time, or teaming up with fast food giants. It’s about plugging into pop culture and knowing how to ride—or better yet, create—the moments everyone’s talking about. The world of food has become a unique stage for pop culture trends, from “The Summer I Turned Pretty” to KATSEYE to Crocs (seriously).
And one of the coolest culture crossovers of the year just dropped. It’s fun, it’s tropical, and, to no one’s surprise, it’s coming from Poppi.
Poppi Drops New Amaya’s Island Colada Soda
If there’s one thing Poppi knows better than crafting probiotic sodas, it’s connecting with its audience. The brand has built a loyal following of young soda lovers who crave the nostalgia of a canned sipper without the sugar rush that usually accompanies it.
And it’s engaging those Gen Z connections perfectly. Poppi keeps showing up in all the big cultural moments: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s internet-breaking engagement, the Labubu craze, and even through collabs with Alix Earle and Post Malone.
So it’s no surprise that Poppi teamed up with this summer’s breakout star for its latest drop: “Love Island” winner Amaya Espinal. Together, they’ve launched Amaya’s Island Colada, a limited-edition soda made for “sensitive gangstas” everywhere.
The idea actually started on Instagram, when Poppi posted a fake “Amaya Papaya” flavor inspired by the Island Queen herself. The post went viral, quickly becoming one of the brand’s most-liked of the year. Naturally, fans begged for it to be real—and Poppi listened.
Now, the playful post has evolved into a full-fledged flavor—well, minus the papaya. According to the brand, the limited-edition release is a tropical ode to Espinal’s “island flair and vibrant personality,” with notes of pineapple and coconut.
“Coconut and pineapple!?? My favorite flavor combo. I need this drink immediately,” one fan raved. Another added, “Oh, this is TOO good! Living for this collab.”
Poppi’s comment section is flooded with a mix of excitement and niche “Love Island” references only diehard fans will catch, from “my heart rate is soooo being tachycardic right now,” to “We’re feeling so much gratitually for this.”
Others are already panicking about availability: “This one [is] selling out before they finish stocking it.”
The Island Colada flavor will be sold exclusively on TikTok Shop and Amazon for a limited time at $24.99 for a 12-pack.
So whether you’ve been following from the start or are just catching up, consider yourself in the loop. And let’s be real—”Love Island” fan or not, we’re all hoping to snag a sip.
