If you shop at Trader Joe’s, you already know that reusable bags are a hot item. Some, such as the Cheese Tote, are readily available. Others, however, like the mini insulated totes, aren’t so easy to find. To have one of the store’s most sought-after accessories means you braved a long, early morning line, paid hundreds of dollars for one on eBay, or perhaps you just got lucky. In any case, donning it in public is an exciting moment.

Now, Costco members can experience the thrill of snagging a viral bag because the retailer has just dropped a four-pack of sturdy totes—and they’re even cheaper than at Trader Joe’s.

Introducing Costco’s KeepCool Reusable Character Totes

In 2024, Costco released a gift set that included a yearlong membership and a reusable tote. Members fell in love with the bag and wished that it were available for purchase separately. Over the summer, the bags—without a gift option—landed on shelves in Canada. And now, the bulk retailer has finally brought the highly sought-after tote to the U.S.—and members are already racing to find it.

It’s easy to see why fans love this product. Costco is known for not providing shopping bags, so these reusable totes help members transport their purchased items into their home (which means one less trip to the car as you’re unpacking).

Plus, they’re adorable. Costco’s KeepCool Reusable Character Totes feature a neutral-colored base and two sets of black handles: one long, one short. The bag is adorned with 13 illustrations that showcase the store’s most popular items, including food court favorites such as a hot dog, a pizza slice, and an ice cream sundae. In addition, it includes cartoon versions of a membership card, a television, and yes, even a roll of toilet paper.

Not only are they stylish, but they’re also sold in sets of four for just $7, which is a steal.

Instagrammer @costcohotfinds shared a video of the new find, and members immediately filled the comment section with excitement. “Got these in Vancouver, Washington—they’re my fave and so strong and large!” said one shopper. “They are actually good quality, and I’ve gotten a lot of use out of them already,” added another.

One person is already thinking ahead to the holiday season. “I need to buy these and fill them with Costco gifts,” they wrote.

On Reddit, some users reported trouble finding the bags in stores. The post’s creator said that they had to ask an employee where the totes were located and found them “way in the back.” They continued to explain where they ultimately spotted them. “Go toward the toilet paper, but take a right instead. [Look] along the back wall. It was a weird location, between the barbecue pellets and the Ziploc bags,” the Redditor wrote.

Some have had success finding the product, while others report that it’s still listed as unavailable online. Considering their popularity, we wouldn’t be surprised if the bags were already sold out. However, there’s a chance that they just haven’t rolled out to all Costco locations yet. Be sure to check back if you don’t see them, and ask a store employee about local availability.
