If there’s one thing we love about Costco, it’s that the warehouse is always adding unique, new finds, from deep-dish Chicago-style pizza to a five-pound tin of Danish butter cookies. We can always count on Costco to impress with its ever-changing lineup.
And it’s no surprise that fans are quick to voice their thoughts and opinions when it comes to Costco’s new offerings. Earlier this month, we saw fans trying out a DIY pumpkin sundae, using the bakery’s seasonal classic and food court ice cream. And other shoppers made room in their freezers just to stock up on a returning seasonal hit.
Now, Costco shoppers have found a new dessert that lends itself for so many uses. But it’s also delicious on its own straight from the jar.
New Cajeta Jars Spotted at Costco
The latest treat to grace Costco aisles is a decadent confection called cajeta. If you aren’t familiar, this traditional Mexican dessert is a type of dulce de leche, or sweetened milk. However, cajeta is specifically made with caramelized goat’s milk, and has a similar texture and taste to a thick caramel.
Costco shopper, @costcohotfinds, shared a video of the new item on Instagram and mentioned the discontinued food court churros, sharing, “Cajeta at Costco! I wish Costco still had the churros so I could drizzle it over them!”
Fans took to the comments to share their thoughts on the new find and the response was overwhelmingly positive, with many sharing creative suggestions on how to use the dessert.
One Costco fan shared that they would drizzle cajeta on “toast, pancakes, ice cream, coffee, anything!” Others claimed that it would pair nicely with apple slices for a fall-inspired snack.
“OMG I would put this on everything!” said another.
But several shoppers recommended keeping things simple by enjoying the treat straight from the jar. “Just spoon feed it to yourself!” someone exclaimed.
“That’s how we eat it, by the spoonful,” another added.
The sweet confection is being sold at Costco in 1.9-pound glass jars for $10.98, although prices may vary depending on your location. Make sure to grab a jar on your next Costco run to enjoy on your favorite fall desserts and with all the cozy, autumn drinks this season.
