Costco Has a New Bakery Item That Shoppers Say ‘Wouldn’t Last a Day’ in Their House

Even if you don’t have a Costco membership, you probably already know that shoppers love the store’s baked goods. Members can’t get enough of crowd-friendly sweet treats, like the Butter Cinnamon Sugar Loaf Cake or Pumpkin Streusel Muffins. Beyond desserts, the warehouse bakery has plenty of savory options, too, from sourdough and French bread to flavor-packed loaves such as Kirkland’s Roasted Garlic Parmesan Bread. There’s truly something for everyone. 

Recently, shoppers noticed a cheesy new bread on shelves that’s sure to pair perfectly with all of your favorite fall soups.

Costco’s Jalapeño Cheddar Loaf With Roasted Peppers

Kirkland Signature Jalapeño Cheddar Loaf With Roasted Peppers is the newest addition to the Costco bakery section. The soft bread features sharp Cheddar cheese, roasted jalapeño, roasted corn, and peppers. Each 32-ounce bag costs around $10, though prices may vary by location.

We can see this being an excellent accompaniment to all of your favorite hearty dishes, including black bean soup, homemade chili, and chicken tortilla soup. Costco’s Jalapeño Cheddar Bread would also make a flavorful base for sandwiches. You can load it up with sliced chicken, avocado, and Pepper Jack cheese for a Southwest-inspired bite, or transform it into a gooey jalapeño popper grilled cheese.

Alternatively, you can fry up a classic patty melt just like one you’d find at a diner. But if you like to keep things simple, there’s no doubt this would taste great as homemade croutons, or simply eaten with a generous slather of butter, too. 

On Instagram, @costcohotfinds shared a video featuring the fresh bakery item, and the comment section quickly filled with excited Costco members who can’t wait to find the loaf in stores. “This is a must try!” exclaimed one fan.

“I fear this wouldn’t last a day in my house,” wrote another. A third chimed in with a similar sentiment, writing, “I’d eat the whole two-pound loaf at one sitting. Yum.”

One Redditor said the speckled bread is already a hit in their house. “Just picked up two loaves today, the family loves it already,” they shared.
