If you’re anything like us, you’re busy hunting down and snatching up all the best fall food releases. Your pantry is already stocked with Little Debbie’s seasonal snacks, and you wasted no time scarfing down Sam’s Club’s holiday muffins. Fall is prime time for those with a persistent sweet tooth. Even if you haven’t bought into the pumpkin spice craze, plenty of autumnal flavors are making big waves on the market. Personally, I’m partial to everything apple-imbued

I’m never without at least a few apple treats in my home this time of year. My fridge is currently hosting a massive jug of apple cider, a half-eaten apple pie, an entire drawer of apples I picked at the orchard last weekend, a quart of apple moonshine, and no fewer than five jars of apple butter. It sounds like I’m stocked on apple goods for the foreseeable future, but as luck would have it, I was recently made aware of a gaping hole in my fruity supply. It comes in the shape of a donut hole from Costco.

Costco’s Apple Fritter Donut Bites Are Back

Okay, technically, they’re donut bites, but let’s not parse words here. Gen Bake’s Apple Fritter Donut Bites have hit Costco’s warehouse stores in full force, and devotees are raving about them.

They’re packed with cinnamon swirl, but best of all, the bites won’t break the bank—a box costs less than $10 for all 13 servings housed inside (totaling about 52 donuts). Of course, according to shoppers who have already tried the bites, you’ll likely find yourself buying more than one box. Do with that information what you will.

As expected, the apple fritter donut holes are making waves in the fall food scene, and may be reason enough to finally splurge on that annual Costco membership. When the Instagram account @costcofoodreviews shared a picture of the donut bites when they were on shelves last year, Costco customers flocked to the comments to give their two cents. They called the bites “dangerously delicious” and “once in a lifetime.”

But the acclaim doesn’t stop there. Redditors in the r/Costco subreddit also can’t stop talking about the sweet apple bites. One user said, “I bought those horrid things once, and never again. I couldn’t stop eating them. They were literally gone in like 3 days and I was the only one who touched them.”

Another Redditor shared that these apple-cinnamon treats “did not last an hour” in their house.

While the donuts are ready to eat straight from the box, some also recommend doctoring them for an even better sweet treat. Suggestions include air-frying the donut holes or just warming them up and topping them with vanilla ice cream. Want a super over-the-top serving suggestion? Fry them in butter before topping with ice cream and caramel sauce

While it’s unclear exactly how long these will stick around, we’re already hearing about the donut bites flying off the shelves. They are definitely a limited seasonal release, so if I were you, I’d jump into my car and race over to my local Costco to grab a few boxes—there’s no way I’m missing out on this.
