Diet Coke isn’t just a drink—it’s a lifestyle, with a massive fan base that surpasses pretty much any other soda. I would know. Diet Coke is my go-to drink in all scenarios, and when I crack open a crisp, cool can of DC and take that first marvelous sip, I seriously wonder why people smoke.
Another brand that has a cult-like following? Owala water bottles. Having launched in 2020, Owala has become the bestselling item in Amazon’s kitchen and dining category, winning fans with its eclectic colorways and patented “FreeSip” technology, which lets you swig through a spout or sip through a straw.
Given how devoted fans are to these brands, it was only a matter of time before the two joined forces to present a collaboration that has the makings of something that could break the internet. And, now they have.
Introducing the New Owala x Diet Coke Collab
Owala and Diet Coke are teaming up for a limited-edition water bottle collection. The new collab features two 24-ounce tumblers and two 24-ounce FreeSip Twist bottles, all bearing the Diet Coke logo. If you opt for the tumbler, you can choose between a bottle that resembles the Diet Coke can or a Diet Coke “Social Club” design. If the FreeSip Twist is more your thing, you can choose between either a bottle that says “Nothing a Diet Coke can’t fix” or a pink bottle with lipstick marks on it. All four are available exclusively at Target for $35 a bottle.
As you can imagine, fans are in a frenzy.
“I absolutely need this!!” one fan commented on an Instagram post sharing the news. “I need it more than I need my next breath,” added another one.
Others lobbied for different soda collaborations. “I would love it if they did this with regular Coke” one person commented. “Awe where’s the love for Dr Pepper,” another joked.
While Owala hasn’t announced any other soda-inspired designs, that doesn’t mean there isn’t something out there for fans. Dr Pepper just launched a fresh new line of merchandise, including a glass tumbler. And outside of the soda world, every brand from Betty Crocker to Taco Bell is dropping branded swag this holiday season. So if you’re not a Diet Coke person, don’t panic just yet. New products may be on their way soon.
