‘Tis the season of Coca-Cola Santa, those adorable animated polar bears, and limited-time holiday flavors, like the new Holiday Creamy Vanilla or Sprite’s returning Winter Spiced Cranberry. There’s a lot of Coke magic to celebrate this time of year—and more to look forward to in 2026. But that’s not enough for some fans.
Recently, a passionate group rallied together and launched a billboard right outside of Coca-Cola’s headquarters in Atlanta. The purpose? To bring back Tab.
Coke’s first “diet soda” still lives rent free, in infamy, for many diehard soda fans—especially “Tabman,” who routinely makes headlines for his collection of Tab ephemera and general Tab lifestyle. And one look at eBay will tell you that Tabman is not alone in his devotion. Today, half a gram of 24k gold is about $66. But a single can of discontinued Tab? $79.99. Or, you can buy a 12-pack…for $400.
But here’s the thing: Tab never went away completely.
You don’t have to buy old soda from a stranger on the internet to get a taste of this classic. There’s actually a way to drink Tab for free right now. Yes, in 2025 AD. And, no, it’s not Coke’s tasting room or its similar attraction at EPCOT.
Tab Is Still Available at Coca-Cola’s Exclusive Beverage Lab
Not too far from the Tab billboard publicity stunt, you’ll find a bevy of Coca-Cola attractions in its hometown of Atlanta—particularly the iconic World of Coca-Cola, where soda fans can visit the Taste It! exhibit and sample dozens of different Coke-owned soft drinks from around the world.
However, if you only visit the main history museum, the tasting room, and the gift shop at the World of Coca-Cola, you are missing out on the chance to drink at least three rare Coke sodas. The Beverage Lab is where you’ll find Tab on tap.
The highly immersive, interactive exhibit opened in 2023, and unlike the famous tasting room, this smaller space is all about the chemistry of soda. It’s here that you’ll find free samples of Tab, as well as New Coke (the company’s most famous flop), in tiny fountains that look like little, bespoke Coca-Cola Freestyle Machines. You’ll also find a rotating mystery soda with no name or description. That flavor is touted as a work in progress and visitors are encouraged to share feedback and even name recommendations.
The best part? The Beverage Lab is included with general admission to World of Coca-Cola. So, while there is a lot to do at the famous attraction—like having your photo taken with the Coca-Cola Polar Bear—don’t miss this chance to sip and savor Tab.
Because unless that billboard can convince executives to bring back the signature magenta cases to grocery store shelves, this is your only way to drink Tab. Well, fresh, not from eBay Tab that is.
