Okay, I’ll admit it: As a millennial, I have a soft spot for the OG cereal legends. From rainbow Froot Loops to Cap’n Crunch’s toasty corn bits, these boxes fueled my childhood mornings, so the nostalgia runs deep. But the undisputed cereal champ in my book? Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Over the years, the cereal icon has released numerous variations of its fan-favorite recipe, including French Toast Crunch and Tres Leches Toast Crunch, which prove that practically everything tastes better dusted with cinnamon and sugar. But the brand doesn’t shy away from wackier ideas either. This year alone, it’s introduced the world to bacon-infused cinnamon squares and a never-before-seen pizza cereal. While those releases have been intriguing at best, nothing hits the spot quite like the original formula.

Few things are as comforting as cinnamon and sugar—until you add an apple to the mix. The sweet and tangy fruit has a way of really making cinnamon and sugar sing. CTC knows it, too, because it just brought back the apple-packed flavor fans have been begging the brand to make a permanent offering.

Apple Pie Toast Crunch Is Back

September is here, and with it comes a slew of fall-favorite snacks, including Appie Pie Toast Crunch. The seasonal flavor contains all the comforting vibes of the original cereal we know and love, but with added notes of rich, caramelized apples and a subtle hint of tartness. Served with milk that’s brimming with warm spices, and each bite tastes exactly like apple pie Ă  la mode.

The limited-edition flavor originally debuted in 2021. And maybe it’s because General Mills had already introduced us to Apple Toast Crunch—a puffy, bread slice-shaped cereal with bold apple butter flavors—but the new apple pie variety took some time to take off.

Is Apple Pie Toast Crunch any different from the previously released apple cereal? All it took was one bite for fans to understand Apple Pie Toast Crunch is in a lane of its own.

“Hands down the most delicious cereal of all time!” one fan raved on the Walmart product page. “This cereal needs to be on the shelves permanently!”

“This is single-handedly the best cereal I have eaten,” added another reviewer. “I bought probably about 15 boxes of this and the sugar cookie one, but this one was sooo good. Please, please, please for the LOVE of god, put it back in stores.”

Despite numerous pleas, it seems, sadly, that General Mills has no plans to add this flavor to its permanent roster. And, based on customers’ passionate reviews over the years, this seasonal flavor is likely to sell out quickly. If you’re lucky enough to stumble across these, we suggest you stock up. According to shoppers, the cereal has been spotted at Walmart and Target.

While we can’t stop the days from getting shorter and colder, we can certainly make them cozier with a bowl loaded with sweet, crunchy apple pie bits.
