We know the holidays are the best time of year for home-cooked foods when favorite recipes like scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, and creamy corn pudding take the spotlight. But we’ve come to realize it’s also the best time of year for fast food finds.

Every week, there’s word of limited-time favorites arriving or returning to drive-thru menus. From Arby’s two Thanksgiving-style sandwiches to Dairy Queen’s festive Blizzards and Hardee’s iconic dessert, the holiday lineup keeps getting more impressive. It’s become a tradition in itself for fast food fans to watch for the return of beloved seasonal items. And Chick-fil-A is adding to the excitement by bringing back a favorite dish loyal customers have been longing for.

Chick-fil-A’s Chicken Tortilla Soup Is Back for the Holidays

Chick-fil-A is welcoming sweater weather with open arms by reintroducing its best comfort dish—Chicken Tortilla Soup.

Chick-fil-A

The seasonal offering features shredded chicken breast and hearty navy and black beans in a rich, creamy base with a blend of vegetables and spices, topped off with crispy tortilla strips for added crunch.

Chick-fil-A customers know that while the restaurant is famous for its chicken sandwiches and waffle fries, it’s the seasonal items like the Chicken Tortilla Soup that really highlight the brand’s versatility. The soup’s creamy texture and blend of flavors make it the ultimate comfort food on a chilly day—but that doesn’t stop fans from wishing it was available on the menu year-round, even claiming it’s better than the chicken noodle

“The tortilla soup should be a permanent item,” one fan declared on Reddit.

Some fans say requesting extra tortilla strips is a must, while others claim, with a little bit of Cheddar cheese and sour cream, it’s the “best chili [they’ve] ever had.”

The beloved Chicken Tortilla Soup is available at select Chick-fil-A restaurants now, with the rest of Chick-fil-A locations nationwide beginning to serve the soup on Nov. 10.

Now, there’s no word on if the popular Peppermint Chip Milkshake—which fans claim is “THE BEST”—will be returning this year, but our fingers are crossed.

Until that news is confirmed, there’s no shortage of holiday-themed beverages on the scene. From Starbucks’ holiday classics to Cracker Barrel’s DIY Hot Chocolate Bar, you’re sure to find another delicious drive-thru option to treat your holiday sweet tooth.
