If we’ve learned anything from fast food this year, it’s that nostalgia always wins. Between Taco Bell’s Y2K menu, Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty, and Raising Cane’s “A Christmas Story” holiday merchandise, it’s clear that fans will race to the drive-thru for a chance to have a little blast from the past.Â
Few chains do nostalgia quite like McDonald’s, though. Some of this year’s most highly anticipated launches come from the Golden Arches, like the return of the Snack Wrap, the McDonaldland Meal with its iconic characters, and the recently announced Grinch Meal.Â
We were already expecting a high volume of fans at the Mickey D’s drive-thru on Dec. 2 as The Grinch descends from Mount Crumpit for his new meal, but now, McDonald’s has announced another new meal that will have the lines extra long.Â
McDonald’s is teaming up with Disneyland to release a new Disneyland Resort Happy Meal.Â
McDonald’s Debuts New Disneyland Resort Happy Meal
In honor of Disneyland Resort’s 70th anniversary, which Disney has been celebrating all year long, McDonald’s is releasing a Happy Meal complete with 70 collectible Disney-themed toys.Â
The meal features 70 Disney characters introduced over the years—with classics, like Mickey Mouse and Snow White, to new faces, like Moana and Judy Hopps, and a few from the Marvel and Star Wars universes. The collectibles feature each Disney character seated on a Disneyland 70 base, reminiscent of the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection found at Disney World during the park’s 50th anniversary.Â
Each McDonald’s Disneyland Resort Happy Meal, which is available with a hamburger, four-count Chicken McNugget, or six-count Chicken McNugget, comes with two Disney toys, along with fries, apple slices, and a drink.
The new Disneyland Resort Happy Meal will be available beginning Dec. 2, and will replace the “Zootopia 2” Happy Meal that McDonald’s is selling now.Â
Fans are already excited about the new Happy Meal, with one Instagram user commenting, “I need quite a few of these,” on McDonald’s post.
So, now everyone can get a fun, themed meal from Mickey D’s on Dec. 2, the Disneyland Resort Happy Meal for the kiddos and The Grinch Meal for the kids at heart (or vice versa, we don’t judge).
