Fast food fans know all about menu hacks, from secret menu items at Dairy Queen to ordering from both McDonald’s and Taco Bell to enjoy a Baja Blast Float to a Chick-fil-A employee creating the viral “bowl.”

We’re always keeping our eyes open for new fast food hacks to try out—because sometimes they may just become your new favorite treat. I recently tried a new menu hack at Culver’s, and it was a delicious combination I didn’t know I needed. And now that I’ve tried it once, you better believe I’m going to try it again.

How To Order Buffalo Cheese Curds at Culver’s

Culver’s cheese curds are so popular, the brand sells more than 41 million orders of cheese curds annually. And it’s no real surprise. You can’t get cheese curds at any old fast food restaurant, so it’s a special treat to pick up an order at the Culver’s drive-thru. The fried nuggets are cheesy, crunchy, and so very delicious. Made with fresh, un-aged Cheddar, it doesn’t get better than an order of Culver’s cheese curds. Or does it?

When I stumbled upon an Instagram post from @SarahMargaretEats DIYing Buffalo cheese curds, I knew I’d have to try it. In the video, the content creator ordered a side of cheese curds, asked for an extra box (for easier tossing and eating), and then poured a pack of Frank’s RedHot plus a pack of buttermilk ranch onto the curds to make Buffalo Cheese Curds.

Now, I will never say no to a Buffalo chicken dip. It’s creamy, cheesy, and has just enough punch from the hot sauce to make each bite special. But how does the combination fare with cheese curds? It’s pretty darn good.

I recently made a stop at Culver’s where I ordered my go-to meal, plus a side of cheese curds with ranch dressing and Frank’s RedHot on the side. I poured the sauces over the cheese curds, and gave it a slight toss. The result was awesome.

Because it was freshly tossed, the sauces didn’t combat the crunchy bite of the fried cheese curds. The flavor combo is an obvious winner—if you like Buffalo chicken, that is. It was herby, piquant, and just a little spicy. The flavor combo just makes sense.

The best part about this order is that it’s not an official menu item. That means it’s not seasonal, or going away any time soon. As long as Culver’s has cheese curds, ranch, and hot sauce, you’ll be able to enjoy this delicious side dish. Pair it with a tasty ButterBurger, and you’ll have one incredible meal.

Give this order a go the next time you make a stop at Culver’s. It may become your new favorite way to enjoy cheese curds!
