Costco is no stranger to incredible prepared dishes, and with the holidays right around the corner, the warehouse is pulling out all the stops, from beloved desserts to a brand-new salad with its iconic rotisserie chicken. Eagle-eyed Costco shoppers recently spotted a new Kirkland Signature heat-and-eat meal, and the deli find might be one of Costco’s most decadent dishes yet.
Kirkland Signature Lobster Mac & Cheese Now at Costco
Just in time for the chilly winter months ahead, Costco is upping its prepared meal game with a new find that’s perfect for holiday hosting and potlucks: Kirkland Signature Lobster Mac & Cheese. The dish features cavatappi pasta mixed with shredded Cheddar cheese, topped with cold water lobster meat. Costco members, such as @costcohotfinds, are already raving about the item, saying, “This is the dish to bring to Thanksgiving!”
“Oh my goodness, this looks absolutely delicious and I cannot wait to try it!” one fan shared in the comments, adding that Costco is “combining two of my absolute favorites!”
“OMG my mouth is watering,” another chimed in. “That’s worth renewing my membership,” someone else added.
According to @discovering_costco, who tried the new dish and shared a review on Instagram, it comes with “big chunks of lobster on top,” and has a “strong lobster flavor and small chunks throughout,” which is definitely a plus given that it retails for $6.99 per pound. They also noted that the seafood iteration is both “creamier and cheesier than the original” macaroni and cheese from Costco.
One commenter wrote that the grown-up spin on a nostalgic classic “could totally make an appearance for Christmas as a side dish,” thanks to oodles of cheese and a healthy amount of lobster piled on top.
Costco shoppers who have tried the chain’s other prepared mac and cheese trays note that the dish can be a bit bland, and highly recommend seasoning it at home before eating. One Instagram fan suggested adding “some garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, pinch of salt, pinch of Old Bay if you have on hand,” and added that, for this particular iteration, “I would squeeze some lemon over the lobster meat.”
Whether you’re looking for an elevated side dish to bring to Thanksgiving that requires minimal effort or just want a lavish (and low-prep) weeknight meal, Costco’s new Lobster Mac & Cheese might be the quick fix you’ve been waiting for. And if you are stocking up for the holidays, you can always grab Roasted Garlic Butter Baguettes to pair with it.
