Aldi Brought Back a Fan-Favorite Dessert That Sold Out Last Year—and Fans ‘Bought 3 Then Went Back and Got 2 More’

This time of year, when people are busy buying gifts for their friends, family, and loved ones, retailers are bringing back their best products and releasing new ones in anticipation of the upcoming holiday season. With social events also ramping up, we often find ourselves attending or hosting more dinners and parties around the winter holidays than at any other time during the year. It’s a busy, busy season. 

When the social calendar fills up, we find ways to make up the time. While we’re cooking and baking up a storm for our many upcoming shindigs, our daily meals and desserts need to become a little easier. After all, there’s only so much we can get done in a day. That’s where our favorite grocery store products come in handy.

Every week, Aldi offers specialty products—from pantry staples to complete dinners—which makes it a little easier to put breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert on the table. This week, the European retailer has a delicious, extra-special sweet treat, especially for this time of year.

Specially Selected Zillionaire and Cookie Butter Cheesecake Individual Cups Return to Aldi

‘Tis the season to whip out your favorite desserts. Aldi’s desserts are so delicious, they can even stand up to mega-giants Costco and Sam’s Club beloved sweet treats. 

The proof is in the pudding: Allrecipes’ Senior Editor Courtney Kassel prefers the $6 Aldi Panettone over the $75 name-brand version. Aldi fans said the Belmont Chocolate Covered Pie Bites are their “one true love.” The store even stocks the delicious dessert we like to pass off as homemade. All that to say, Aldi brings the heat in the dessert department—and this week is no exception. 

For one week only, from Nov. 19 through Nov. 25, Aldi is bringing back two fan-favorite desserts that are sure to sell out quickly. The Specially Selected Zillionaire Cheesecake and Specially Selected Cookie Butter Cheesecake individual cups are returning to store shelves, and fans couldn’t be more excited. One shopper even bought three then went back to get two more—that’s how good these desserts are. 

The Specially Selected Zillionaire Cheesecake cups are a play on the tasty millionaire bars. Each pot features a cheesecake that’s baked over a dark chocolate biscuit and a layer of salted caramel sauce, finished with a Belgian dark chocolate ganache topping. Aldi’s Specially Selected Cookie Butter Cheesecake has a cookie butter crust and is topped with Belgian cookie butter ganache.

“I loved it,” one Facebook user said of the cookie butter cheesecake. “Went back the next day and it was sold out.”

Fans were similarly pleased with the zillionaire cheesecake option. “I just had a [zillionaire] cheesecake for dessert tonight,” one shopper noted. “It was rich and decadent. Thank goodness it was an individual portion because I polished off the entire little cup!”

The individual cheesecakes are sold in packs of two for $3.99 each and come in a 6.35-ounce (180-gram) glass jar filled with the layered dessert. Several shoppers even mentioned keeping the glass jars long after the cheesecakes are gone and using them for storage, propagating plants, and more. 

But like all of Aldi’s incredible products in the “Aisle of Shame,” these cheesecake cups are available for one week, or while supplies last. So if you have a sweet tooth, make a run to Aldi to give these delicious, layered desserts a go.
