If you haven’t noticed lately, Burger King has been serving up hit after hit. Earlier this year, the chain released the BBQ Brisket Whopper, a sizable handheld piled high with slow-cooked beef and crispy onions. Then, it brought back Cini Minis, a dessert fans have been waiting to see back on menus for over a decade. More recently, guests celebrated Halloween with a spooky meal that included a jack-o’-lantern-inspired Whopper, vampire tooth-shaped nuggets, and a swirled Franken-Candy Sundae.Â
Now, Burger King is releasing a new kids’ meal toy collection, and fans of all ages are already racing to collect them all.
Burger King Launches New Sonic the Hedgehog King Jr. Meal
In the words of Sonic the Hedgehog, “aw yeah, this is happening!” Sonic-inspired toys have just landed at Burger King. For a limited time only, you can get a figurine of the iconic video game character and his best buds when you order a King Jr. Meal.
And while Sonic’s favorite dinner—chili dogs—isn’t offered at Burger King, guests can choose from one of three popular kid-sized entrĂ©es: a hamburger, cheeseburger, or chicken nuggets. As usual, you can select fries or apple slices for a side, and top it all off with milk, juice, or a fountain drink.
Burger King’s Sonic the Hedgehog collection includes six unique toys modeled after the game’s most popular characters. It features the speedy blue hedgehog himself and his trusty sidekick Tails, along with Amy Rose, Rouge the Bat, Knuckles, and Shadow. In addition, you can also snag four colorful BK crowns designed after Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose, and Knuckles.
In a recent Instagram post, food reviewer @snachwithzach shared a video showcasing the new toys, and it didn’t take long for fans to flood the comments with excitement about the release. “Definitely wanna try and collect them all!” said one excited user. “I need those crowns,” wrote another. “My son is going to be sooo happy,” added one more.
In a separate Instagram post, one person shared a statement that received over 300 likes: “I love how Burger King has better kids’ meal toys than McDonald’s recently,” they wrote.
Earlier this year, Burger King dropped multiple new kids’ meal collectibles, including “Naruto”-themed figurines, a “How to Train Your Dragon” set, and a Scooby-Doo meal featuring all our favorite Mystery Inc. members.
We don’t know exactly how long this special offering will be available, so make sure to visit the drive-thru sooner rather than later to get all six figurines. Otherwise, your only option might be to shop for yours on eBay, where full sets are already on sale for over $100.
