Reese’s has proven time and time again that chocolate and peanut butter aren’t an exclusive duo—they’re also open to inviting other flavors to the party. Don’t get us wrong, we’ll always have a soft spot for the classic chocolate-peanut butter pairing (especially when it comes in a festive shape), but we feel there’s plenty of room on shelves for something new.

From a salty peanut crunch to a creamy caramel filling or even a rich red velvet twist, Reese’s continues to show that chocolate and peanut butter have more range than we ever imagined. Some combinations work better than others, but for the most part, Reese’s knows exactly what it’s doing—and somehow, its combos just keep getting more iconic.

So when a new holiday-inspired stuffed cup dropped last year, fans (ourselves included) scrambled to find it. And after a strong debut, it’s back to fill our stockings once again.

Reese’s Brings Back Sugar Cookie Cups

In a sweet nod to one of the season’s most nostalgic desserts, Reese’s introduced the Sugar Cookie Cup last year for the holidays.

The festive twist featured real chunks of sugar cookie mixed right into the classic peanut butter filling. Fans called them “surprisingly good” and raved about the Rice Krispies-like crunch inside. After a successful first season, it should come as no surprise that the sugar cookie–stuffed cups are back for round two.

“Reese’s really dropped a sugar cookie edition—peanut butter cups stuffed with sugar cookie bits,” one shopper shared after recently spotting them at CVS Pharmacy. “Soft, crunchy, festive, ridiculously addictive. It’s the Christmas mashup we didn’t know we needed.”

The Sugar Cookie Cups come in four sizes: Big Cup, miniatures, regular, and king size. But if last year taught us anything, it’s that bigger isn’t always better. Fans say the mini and regular sizes are where the sugar cookie really comes through, thanks to a higher crunchy-to-creamy ratio.

Surprisingly, the Sugar Cookie Cups are faring even better among fans than some of the other recent Reese’s experiments, outperforming past crunchy varieties like pretzel and potato chip. “Reese’s have been kind of all over the place right now, so many collaborations,” one Redditor admitted. “I was ready for disappointment, but no, these are so good. They’re probably my favorite out of all the mixes they’ve been putting out.”

Sweet, salty, and somewhat unexpected, this holiday comeback is a showcase of everything Reese’s does best—and now it’s hard to imagine the season without it.
