Now that it’s November, we’ve officially moved from Halloween to all things holiday—with a little Thanksgiving in between, of course. From seasonal grocery finds to candy favorites, red and green hued treats are popping up everywhere.
And whether we’re ready or not, ‘tis the season for Trader Joe’s advent calendar collection to return to stores, too. As always, the grocery chain is rolling out a variety of highly giftable holiday options, but its advent calendars are among our favorites. Each one costs just $1.29, and so far, we’ve spotted four different covers, though shoppers are hopeful that the store will continue releasing more whimsical, winter-themed designs, as it traditionally does.
Trader Joe’s Milk Chocolate Advent Calendars Are Back
There’s a lot to love about Trader Joe’s advent calendars, which have been annual tradition for the store since the 1990s. First of all, you can’t beat the price. For $1.29, you have a fun activity to enjoy for the entire month of December. Then, there’s the high-quality chocolate inside. Each calendar contains 24 sweet, seasonally shaped chocolates hidden behind the little numbered doors.
Finally, there’s the fun that comes with each different advent calendar. When you’re browsing through this year’s themes, be sure to check out the back of each to discover different games, activities, and even baking guides.

Speaking of themes, there are four to choose from (so far, at least). According to TJ’s product page, each calendar is “designed by our very own, very talented package designers.” One depicts a cozy fireside setup, while another features adorable penguin characters in a tropical surfing scene. There’s another calendar adorned with seasonal sweets, and one with gorgeous decorative bows. In short, there’s an option for everyone on your “nice” list.
But wait, there’s more!
All of Trader Joe’s 2025 Advent Calendars
Don’t worry pet parents, Trader Joe’s has you covered again as well with the return of its specialty (chocolate-free) advent calendars for your lovable dogs and cuddly cats. And this year, they’re better than ever. According to the product page, Trader Joe’s changed the calendars’ contents per customers’ requests. Both now contain 24 single- or 2-ingredient treats; freeze-dried chicken breast treats for the dogs, and freeze-dried salmon and sweet potato treats for the cats. They also feature adorable updated packaging. The calendars still costs only $7.99 each.
And if you want to skip the chocolate altogether and don’t have a pet, Trader Joe’s also brought back its fan-loved 12 Days of Beauty advent calendar, full of customer-favorite beauty products, including body scrubs, lip balms, a bath fizzer, hand cream, and daily sunscreen—all for just $19.99.
There’s quite literally something for everyone to enjoy with this season’s Trader Joe’s advent calendar collection, but they tend to sell out quickly, so get them while you can! We know we’ll be stocking up.
