Baking has always been one of my comfort hobbies, and I love spending a weekend embracing seasonal flavors, from vibrant lemon in the summer to pumpkin spice cupcakes in the fall. And while I usually opt for homemade recipes, I’m certainly not above using a good box mix to keep things simple and convenient.

Betty Crocker has been my go-to for years, but now there’s a new brand mixing things up and causing a stir down the baking aisle. And it just released two limited-edition holiday cookie mixes that promise to get as close as possible to homemade.

My Better Batch Introduces New Holiday Cookie Mixes

While most of us are familiar with brands like Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines, My Better Batch is a bit of a newcomer when it comes to the grocery store, as it launched just last year. With a focus on offering clean ingredients and simple instructions, you’ll find that its line of cookie mixes features classic flavors that are free of artificial dyes and preservatives. And now the brand is joining in on the holiday fun, adding two limited-edition flavors that are packed with cozy Christmas vibes: Holiday Cheer and Chocolate Peppermint.

Holiday Cheer is a festive upgrade to your classic chocolate chip cookie, with semi-sweet chocolate chunks embedded into a soft, buttery dough. There’s also a lovely pop of color from naturally-dyed red and green sprinkles. Meanwhile, the Chocolate Peppermint cookies are studded with mini semi-sweet chocolate chips and capture the delicious combination of rich chocolate and refreshing peppermint.

And making these cookies is easy, too. Simply combine the cookie mix with one egg and a stick of butter before scooping the dough into balls and placing them on a baking sheet. After baking for about 10 minutes, you’ll have a fresh batch of tasty cookies that will give Betty, Duncan, and the Doughboy some serious competition this holiday season.

Lindsay Hancock, founder of My Better Batch, shared the inspiration behind the new additions in a recent press release, stating, “I created these cookie mixes to give consumers like me a shortcut that tastes genuinely homemade, made with ingredients I can pronounce and am proud to share with my family and friends.”

These cookies would make a great addition to your holiday baking plans if you need something easy to throw together for a party (or want to add some extra flair to Santa’s plate of goodies). Each box makes about 16 cookies and is priced at $6.99—and both holiday flavors are exclusive to Target. You can also order My Better Batch’s permanent lineup of cookie mixes, which include classic holiday favorites such as sugar cookies, on the brand’s website.

Both Chocolate Peppermint and Holiday Cheer are only at Target for a limited time. So, make sure to stock up to upgrade your holiday cookie game this year.
