2025 has been quite a year for Waffle House. In addition to celebrating 70 years in business, the Georgia-based breakfast chain attracted a swath of attention with its short-lived 50-cent-per-egg surcharge. And now it’s back in the news for all the right reasons. WaHo is taking its signature waffles to new heights—but only for a limited time.

Waffle House Adds New Cinnamon Crunch Waffle for a Limited Time

Per a recent Instagram announcement, the restaurant is now offering a seasonal Cinnamon Crunch Waffle. The new waffle is filled with cinnamon nougat that’s baked into the dough before getting topped with cinnamon sprinkles and a dollop of whipped cream. Waffle House’s flavored waffles usually only incorporate the flavor inside the batter (as with its blueberry and pecan waffles) or on the exterior (like its Birthday Cake Waffle), so it’s exciting to see WaHo went the Strawberry Shortcake Waffle route and opted for filling and topping here.

My inside source at Waffle House got an early taste of the new Cinnamon Crunch Waffle and said it’s less intense than the Birthday Cake Waffle. Its sweetness is more subtle and its flavor perfectly seasonal—we all know that cinnamon shines at this time of year.

Another early reviewer on Reddit wrote, “This is so good. I’ve eaten one almost every night.” The reviewer also mentions that the combination of the melty cinnamon nougat filling and some syrup on top “hits the spot.” Over on Instagram, fans are calling the waffle a “blessing from the gods.”

But not everyone is happy. Many WaHo fans were hoping for the return of 2023’s Pumpkin Spice Waffle, but we will take what we can get. As one Reddit user put it, “It’s not pumpkin but it may fill the void.” We can only hope that pumpkin will return next fall, but in the meantime, I recommend maximizing the fall flavor by adding pecans to the Cinnamon Crunch Waffle for an additional 50 cents.

While the classic sweet cream waffle retails for $5.20, the seasonal additions will round your total out to about $6.25. If you’re ready to try the new waffle for yourself, you can see if your local WaHo is serving up the specialty waffles by checking its website. The Cinnamon Crunch Waffle is available now at participating Waffle House locations for a limited time, or while supplies last, so don’t wait too long to pay your local WaHo a visit.
