Hostess Has 2 Brand-New Treats on Shelves for a Limited Time

The snack aisle is looking quite festive right now, with new arrivals, such as Little Debbie’s Chocolate Christmas Tree Cakes, Duncan Hines’ new Holiday Sugar Cookie Mix, and Fruity Pebbles WinterFest cereal.

But, believe it or not, there’s something even more magical than the holidays taking hold at the grocery store this season: The “Wicked: For Good” movie arriving in theaters on Nov. 21. If last year’s “Wicked” mania felt strong, this year’s is a full-scale twister.

Honestly, if there’s a single sweet snack that hasn’t undergone a pink or green makeover this year, we’d be shocked. From baking mixes, cookies, and pie crusts (oh my!), every aisle has been completely Gah-lindafied and Elphabalized. And now, thanks to Hostess, snack cakes are joining the ranks. Consider us officially “obsessulated.”

Hostess Launches New ‘Wicked’-Inspired Cupcakes

Normally, this time of year, we’d be keeping an eye out for Hostess’s seasonal hits, like its Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow Donettes or Holiday Chocolate Drizzle Baby Bundts. But until Nov. 21, other “thrillifying” treats will have our full attention: Hostess’ new Wicked Cupcake collection.

In collaboration with “Wicked: For Good,” Hostess is debuting two themed flavors inspired by Oz’s most famous frenemies.

Elphaba’s Wickedly Wonderful Green flavor features chocolate cake with a creamy filling, topped with a bright green frosted cap and Hostess’ signature swirl. Glinda’s Ozmopolitan Pink flavor takes a strawberry-flavored cake, fills it with cream, and crowns it with a perfectly pink frosting and white swirl. Both flavors are, as Hostess puts it, “approvified by the wizard for a limited time.”

Some fans have wished for “more interesting flavors” of the snack cake duo, but others are utterly enchanted by the look alone—calling the cakes “super cute” and raving that the “box art is so pretty.”

Both flavors will be available at retailers nationwide starting at $3.19 for a limited time. Each box includes eight individually-wrapped cakes—perfect for packing in a lunchbox, sneaking into the theater, or saving for a post-show treat.

So try to find them before they fly off the shelves. This “Wicked” madness may be sweet, but it won’t be around “for good.”
