It’s no secret that Aldi has excellent finds year-round. However, during the holiday season, we find ourselves wandering the grocery store aisles much more than usual. The retailer brings back its best deals on Awesome Pots and stand mixers, fills the Aldi Finds aisle with giftable drinkware, and some of our favorite seasonal treats return.
Earlier this month, Aldi shoppers were thrilled to find Tiramisu and Pie Bites on shelves. Now, another popular dessert is back, and one fan calls it the “best $4 spent at Aldi.”
Specially Selected Premium Apple Mascarpone StrudelÂ
Specially Selected Premium Apple Mascarpone Strudel was recently spotted back on shelves. It’s the perfect cozy dessert to serve at all your fall gatherings. The strudel features soft bites of cinnamon apple and creamy mascarpone cheese sandwiched between flaky pastry layers. Each frozen roll contains six servings and costs just under $5.
In a recent social media post, one person shared a photo of the golden portions perfectly sliced, calling it “literally amazing.”
Another chimed in with their thoughts on the find. “I bought this a few days ago, and it was the last one! We had it yesterday, and [it was] so good!” one Redditor wrote. “Puff pastry with sugar crystals on top, oozy mascarpone, [and a] sweet apple filling. Definitely [will] get again!”
Fans’ love for the product goes back years. In a 2023 Reddit thread, shown above, one shopper said the apple-filled roll is a nostalgic purchase. “I always buy the strudel when I see it. It’s close, but not quite as delicious as the strudel my grandmother used to make by hand this time of year when I was a kid. Really brings back memories,” they explained.
Aldi’s frozen apple strudel seems to sell out quickly, so if you see it, be sure to buy two (or three!) before it disappears. And if you can’t find it, you can whip up your own in less than an hour. Just combine our apple strudel recipe with a few heaping spoonfuls of mascarpone or cream cheese for an easy homemade version you can return to again and again.
