Aldi Just Dropped Another Designer Cookware Copycat, and It’s 75 Percent Cheaper

For a while, it felt impossible to scroll through your social media feed without seeing the Our Place pan action. This proprietary nonstick skillet went mega-viral online, thanks to its sleek color palette, versatility, and easy-to-clean surface. By 2023, GQ reported that the brand had sold out 30 times since its release in 2019—cementing its status as one of the internet’s most beloved pieces of cookware.

Aldi Brought Back the Fan-Favorite Awesome Pot

Starting Oct. 22, Aldi’s beloved Crofton Non-Stick Coating Awesome Pot is back in the “Aisle of Shame.” It’s a copycat of the viral Perfect Pot from Our Place, but instead of $149, the Aldi version is $36.99. Even better: Aldi’s pot holds more, with a roomy 6.5-quart capacity compared to Our Place’s 5.5-quart version. The new pot comes in two colors: a classic cream and a trendy matte sage.

“We have both the pot and pan from Aldi as well as the set from Our Place,” shared one Aldi shopper on Reddit. “We use the Aldi variants daily and they work exceptionally well.”

This pot is great for all sorts of recipes, from big batches of pasta, soup, and stew to braised meats and fried chicken. A reliable Dutch oven is a must-have for any home cook. And with easy cleaning and a slippery nonstick surface, this Aldi version may even replace your old go-to pot.
