For the last decade, the same exact snack has called to me daily between meals: frozen mixed berries, slightly thawed, combined with plain full-fat (that’s important!) Greek yogurt, all topped with a generous portion of granola. That might sound boring, but you just have to trust me, it tastes like dessert but is packed with protein, making it oh-so satisfying.
When I first started packing this combo in mason jars to take to work with me, the granola was always homemade. Now, one kid and much less free time in my day later, I stick to the store-bought variety. Lately, that has been exclusively Purely Elizabeth Chocolate Chip Cookie Granola, making my go-to snack even more dessert-like. So you can imagine my delight when I found a super-sized bag of it at Costco last week.
Purely Elizabeth Cookie Granola Launches at Costco
I was leisurely strolling the grocery aisles of Costco last week (one of my top five favorite hobbies), when I spotted the gigantic 31-ounce bag and practically ran to the pallet of them. Currently, Costco only carries the Chocolate Chip flavor, but luckily for me, that one is my favorite.
It’s loaded with certified gluten-free oats, chocolate chunks, and chia seeds that form big, satisfying clusters thanks to almond butter, maple syrup, and a combination of coconut sugar, oil, and flour. A hint of vanilla, sea salt, and cinnamon give it that classic chocolate chip cookie taste. If you aren’t a coconut lover, don’t let the trio of coconut products scare you! It doesn’t taste overtly coconutty—they more so lend a toasty quality to the overall flavor.
I, of course, love this granola atop my daily berry yogurt, but it’s also great in a bowl with milk or just eaten out of the bag by the handful. As one Reddit user put it, “The only sane thing to do is buy a whole box full because with Costco you never know when they’ll disappear!” And considering Costco is selling it for just $13 for the 31-ounce bag—three times as much granola for just a few dollars more than the 11-ounce bag at my local grocery store—I’ll definitely be stocking up while I still can!
