USDA Expands Recall of More Than 3 Million Pounds of Frozen Meat Products After 5 Reports of Injury

On Oct. 4, 2025, Foster Poultry Farms, LLC, issued a recall for more than three million pounds of frozen chicken corn dog products that may be contaminated with foreign material. The frozen corn dogs may contain wood pieces in the batter, which the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has classified as a “Class I” recall, meaning that eating the products has a “reasonable probability” of “serious adverse health consequences or death.”

This recall was announced days after Tyson Foods issued its own recall for several of its State Fair and Jimmy Dean corn dog and sausage-on-a-stick products for the same contaminant.

As of Oct. 17, the recall has been updated to reflect another batch of potentially contaminated meat-on-a-stick products, this time approximately 118,098 additional pounds of frozen meat products, “Whole Grain Chicken Corn Dog Whole Grain Batter Wrapped Chicken Franks on a Stick Lower Fat” with the “use by” date of Aug. 7, 2026.

How To Identify the Recalled Frozen Corn Dogs

The recalled Foster Farms corn dogs were produced between July 30, 2024, and Aug. 4, 2025, and sold at retail locations nationwide, including Walmart and Sam’s Club stores. All the recalled products can be identified by the establishment number “P-6137B” found in the USDA mark of inspection.

• Gluten Free Corn Dogs Chicken Franks Dipped in Honey Batter
• Jumbo Corn Dogs Chicken Franks Dipped in Honey Batter
• Corn Dogs Chicken Franks Dipped in Honey Batter
• Chicken Corn Dogs Honey Batter Dipped Chicken Frank On a Stick
• Chicken Corn Dogs Batter Wrapped Chicken Frankfurters on a Stick
• Whole Grain, Maple Flavored Pancake Wraps Whole Grain Pancake Batter Around a Pre-Cooked Ground Turkey and Textured Vegetable Protein Link on a Stick
• Whole Grain Chicken Corn Dog Whole Grain Batter Wrapped Chicken Franks on a Stick Lower Fat
• Jumbo Corn Dogs Honey Crunchy Flavored Batter

What To Do if You Have the Recalled Corn Dogs

FSIS received one complaint, wherein a consumer was injured after eating one of the since-recalled products. Additionally, Foster Farms has received multiple complaints, including reports of five injuries caused by eating the meat-on-a-stick products. 

If you have the recalled Foster Farms products in your freezer, you should not consume them. Instead, throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
