Sonic Just Dropped a New Version of a Fan-Favorite Menu Item

Sonic has been quenching our thirst all year long with a variety of new beverage options, such as the Strawberry Mangonada Slush, a lemonade trio, and even a frozen lime and pickle juice blended drink.

But its crafted beverages aren’t the only thing that keeps us hitting the drive-thru. In May, Sonic added Cheesy Garlic Pepperoni Bites to the menu. Soon after, the drive-in-style restaurant launched Chicken Tender Wraps and Salted Caramel Toffee Croissant Bites that pair perfectly with any of the chain’s iced coffees. 

With hit after hit, the chain is showing no signs of slowing down. Now, Sonic is adding a new seasonal milkshake to the lineup and debuting a revamped version of a popular, cheesy handheld. 

Sonic Launches New Peppermint Brownie Bark Shake and Pretzel Bacon Double Sonic Smasher

It may only be October, but jingle bells are already ringing at Sonic. Starting Oct. 20, guests can order the new Peppermint Brownie Bark Shake, which features our favorite holiday combination: chocolate and peppermint. The shake combines vanilla soft serve with chocolate chunk brownie pieces and crushed peppermints. Each frozen treat is topped with fluffy whipped cream, a cherry, and a dusting of the nostalgic red and white candy.

And that’s not all Sonic is serving up this season. Fans of the chain’s burgers will be happy to hear that the Pretzel Bacon Double Sonic Smasher is now available. The handheld starts with a buttery pretzel bun and two hand-smashed Angus beef patties. It’s then piled high with gooey American cheese, bacon, crunchy fried onions, and mustard. Those who are extra hungry can upgrade to a Triple Sonic Smasher, which includes three beef patties. Considering the original smash burgers are already so popular with fans, we have no doubt that this new iteration will be a hit, too. 

Sonic Launches the Creamy Mustard Chicken Tender Wrap

This month, Sonic is also revamping its $1.99 menu. The value section was first introduced in 2024 and is continually refreshed throughout the year as new items drop. This time, three crave-worthy options are being added, including an all-new flavor snack wrap.

For less than $2, fans can snag a Creamy Mustard Chicken Tender Wrap, which includes a flour tortilla and crispy chicken tenders topped with lettuce, tomatoes, melty Cheddar cheese, and a creamy mustard sauce. To wash it all down, you can get a medium Cherry Flavor Bubble Slush or Green Apple Flavor Bubble Slush, both of which are new to the $1.99 menu.

Before you head to the drive-thru, however, you’ll want to download the Sonic app. These new items are app-exclusives until Nov. 3, when they become available nationwide through all ordering methods. Even if you aren’t a rewards member, there’s good news—you can still take advantage of the $1.99 menu, which is open to all guests.
