The soda world is experiencing a boom in trends. While the old-school sodas, like Diet Coke Lime and Slice, will always drum up excitement, brands are really stepping it up to turn heads. From joining the better-for-you craze to experimenting with unique flavors, soda companies are working overtime to find the next best thing.
PepsiCo is the latest brand to bottle a trend, with its three new offerings inspired by the dirty soda trend. The creamy, typically extra-sweet soda was popularized by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but has since found its way to drive-thrus and, now, grocery stores.
PepsiCo released its first “dirty soda,” Pepsi Wild Cherry & Cream, earlier this year, and, now at the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) show, it’s debuting two more, including Mug Root Beer Floats Vanilla Howler Soda and Dirty Mountain Dew Cream Soda Dew.

Mountain Dew has been experimenting with “Dirty Dew” for a while now, but mainly at the drive-thru. It teamed up with Papa Johns for a ‘Cini Dirty Soda, made with pepperoncini juice instead of cream, as well as KFC for a true dirty soda, the Sweet Lightning Peaches & Cream Soda.
However, no Dirty Dew has been as famous as Taylor Frankie Paul’s—the star of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” and next “Bachelorette”—homemade Dirty Baja Blast.
While Mountain Dew isn’t recreating that lightning in a bottle, it is ensuring its canned dirty soda has the iconic citrus kick of Mountain Dew along with a new, creamy flavor.
The new Dirty Mountain Dew Cream Soda Dew combines its zesty, citrus flavor of Mountain Dew with the fan-loved flavors of indulgent vanilla flavors (and mouthfeel) of cream soda.
Mountain Dew’s new Cream Soda Dew is hitting shelves in early 2026 in both regular- and zero-sugar cans and bottles. However, our editors tried the new soda at NACS, and here is our honest review.
Our Honest Review of Dirty Mountain Dew Cream Soda Dew
Allrecipes News Editor Andrea Lobas said that the pop has a cream soda base, so vanilla and coconut flavors are the first things she tasted, followed by the “signature Mountain Dew sweet citrus kick.”
“It looks like a cloudy version of the original—and the taste matches with that creamier mouthfeel,” she said.
While Lobas didn’t fall in love with the new soda, she said it’s perfect for fans of dirty soda and Mountain Dew alike—and that seems to be the consensus at NACS.
Tyler Bowers, the food insider behind the Instagram account @teamsupernova, said that he “went back for more a couple of times,” and he’s continued to hear positive reviews from around the show.
“I noticed it doesn’t have orange juice concentrate like Mountain Dew typically has—so it’s definitely a much smoother take on Dew. It works better than it has any right to,” he told Allrecipes. “I also feel like they have been perfecting their Zeros because that was great, too.”
You’ll have to wait a few more months before you can add your two cents, but it’s clear that the anticipation for the new Dirty Mountain Dew Cream Soda Dew is real.
