If you thought you’d seen it all in the world of candy innovation, think again. Sure, freeze-dried sweets have been quite the exciting development—now even showing up in caramel form—and the rise of Swedish candy introduced entirely new textures to the mainstream. But even after you’ve seen glow-in-the-dark sour gummies, you still haven’t seen it all.

Candy brands continue to push creative boundaries, and one company is taking that innovation to the next level. This year, Bazooka Brands has introduced something multi-flavor, multi-texture, and almost as entertaining as it is flavorful. And now, it’s hitting stores nationwide.

Juicy Drop Gummy Mystery Cubes Are Coming Nationwide

Bazooka Brands—known for candy aisle icons like Juicy Drop, Push Pop, and Ring Pop—is officially launching its most inventive treat yet: Juicy Drop Gummy Mystery Cubes.

The two-level, peelable candy hasn’t fully landed in stores yet, but it’s already capturing the attention of candy lovers everywhere. Developed in collaboration with global candy innovator Amos, the Mystery Cube is all about delivering a unique eating experience—edible entertainment, if you will. 

When you first unwrap it, you’ll find an opaque cube with something colorful hidden inside. Once you break through the soft outer shell, you can peel to reveal a 3D animal-shaped gummy inside. It’s interactive, fun, and gives you two treats and textures in one quirky, satisfying format.

I had the opportunity to taste the candy at the Sweets & Snacks Expo earlier this year, and it didn’t disappoint. While the “peelable candy” trend has already taken off, I’ve never seen anything quite like this. Unlike the smooth gummies you usually find inside, there’s an intricately shaped animal hidden in each Juicy Drop Gummy Mystery Cube, making the reveal more playful and hands-on than its competition. Plus, it’s like a mini guessing game to find out which creature might be inside.

While the Mystery Cube was first unveiled in May 2025, it wasn’t originally expected to hit stores until 2026. But after its award-winning debut at the Expo, where it took home Most Innovative New Product and Buyer’s Choice Award in the non-chocolate categories, fans didn’t want to wait.

So, “in response to overwhelming demand,” Bazooka Brands decided to roll it out early. The candy will be available starting today in two variety packs, Original and Wild Berry, each offering a mix of different flavors, colors, and shapes.

“We were absolutely floored by the incredible reaction when we first debuted Juicy Drop® Gummy Mystery Cube earlier this year,” said Becky Silberfarb, VP of Marketing at Bazooka Brands, in a press release. “Retailers couldn’t wait to get it on shelves, and fans were instantly hooked on the surprise, the flavors, and the discovery. The response has been incredible, and we’re so thrilled to finally bring this ‘peel and reveal’ experience to candy aisles nationwide.”

The new candy is officially available now on Amazon and in Dollar General stores, with further rollout to Walmart, Target, and Walgreens planned over the next few months.

So, when candy becomes as engaging as it is tasty, you have to wonder—when will innovation in the candy world ever end? If this drop is any indication, we’re still a long way from finding out.
