Häagen-Dazs Is Coming for Dairy Queen With 8 New Decadent Menu Items

As a kid, ice cream cakes were synonymous with luxury. On a particularly memorable occasion, we celebrated my mom’s birthday with one from Dairy Queen. The crunchy chocolate bits and fudge layered between the chain’s soft serve just spoke to me, even as a child. And do you remember Breyers’ Viennetta from the ‘90s? If my dad came home with one of those, I just knew something exciting was about to happen.

These days, I can’t remember the last time I had an ice cream cake. But I have a feeling that’s about to change because Häagen-Dazs Shops just dropped a reimagined lineup of its popular frozen cakes.

And it looks so good it might even upstage DQ.

Häagen-Dazs Shops Launches Reimagined Ice Cream Cake Collection

Häagen-Dazs Shops just relaunched its ice cream cake collection with eight new revamped frozen desserts, replacing its previous ice cream cakes.

According to the press release, the new lineup includes fresh designs and premium ingredients worthy of any celebration. The drop is complete with birthday-specific varieties and plenty of all-occasion creations to serve at your next gathering. 

Here’s a look at what’s new in shops: 

• Ribbon Cake: This is a fun, frozen spin on pirouette cake. Midnight Cookies & Cream and Vanilla Chocolate Chip ice cream surround a crunchy cookie layer to form this delight. The two-toned creation is finished with a thick blanket of chocolate and swirls of whipped topping. What makes this a real showstopper is the edges, which are surrounded by chocolate-filled rolled wafer cookies and secured with a ribbon.
• Dulce De Leche Cake: Those who enjoy the shop’s Dulce de Leche ice cream in its fall drink lineup will love this treat. This cake is crafted with the beloved ice cream and a spiced cinnamon cookie crunch center. Each is topped with cookie pieces, dollops of whipped topping, and a decadent caramel drizzle. 
• Coffee Crunch Cake: Coffee lovers, this one is for you. It features the brand’s iconic coffee ice cream, which, if you haven’t tried it, is unmatched. In addition, it has a layer of shortbread cookie pieces, smooth chocolate frosting, and chocolate-covered espresso beans to top it all off. The sides are covered in a textured cookie crunch, making every bite a mocha-flavored dream. 
• Rose’s and Reuben’s Birthday Cakes: There’s no doubt about it–these two were made with birthdays in mind. The treat is made with thick portions of vanilla ice cream, chocolate ice cream, and a colorful sprinkle center. The pair is very similar except that Rose’s Birthday Cake cannot be customized because the entire cake is covered in rainbow sprinkles. Reuben’s is also covered in sprinkles. The top, however, is left white so customers can personalize a message for the guest of honor. 
• Cookies and Cream Cake: This treat is made with Häagen-Dazs’ Cookies and Cream ice cream, which has a vanilla base with crushed chocolate cookies mixed in. This centerpiece-worthy cake is topped with cookie-infused icing and even more crushed cookies on top, delivering big flavor in every bite. 
• Triple Chocolate Cake: If you believe that you can never have too much chocolate, you’ll love this indulgent option. Each slice features rich and creamy Belgian Chocolate ice cream sandwiched between a layer of chocolate cookie pieces. It is covered with a luscious chocolate frosting and piped frosting swirls. In addition, a gorgeous chocolate drizzle cascades down the sides.
• Just Because Cake: For those interested in a light, fruity option, look no further than the Just Because Cake. It includes strawberry and vanilla ice cream and a vanilla cookie layer that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser. A white frozen topping coats this cake, leaving the perfect blank slate for all of your personalized “Just Because I Love You,” or “Just Because It’s a Tuesday” messages.
