Black Sheep Coffee To Open More New U.S. Locations

The chain isn’t massive—nowhere near Starbucks’ size or even Luckin Coffee, which recently arrived in the U.S. as well. But that’s part of its charm. Black Sheep Coffee feels artisanal and a bit under-the-radar, while still being established enough to draw a loyal following.

The company was founded in 2013 by two college roommates in London who wanted to shake up the coffee scene. Their big twist? Using Robusta beans instead of the industry-standard Arabica. Robusta is said to deliver a bolder, smoother flavor profile—and pack in more caffeine.

“Used to drink this in London,” one fan on Reddit shared. “Fantastic coffee. Can’t believe it is a chain. Some volume of caffeine in [it], too.”

Since its early days, Black Sheep Coffee has grown to more than 100 locations worldwide. The brand quietly made its U.S. debut in late 2024, opening its first store in Dallas. Today, there are three locations across Texas and one in Miami.

And the expansion isn’t stopping there. According to a Black Sheep Coffee representative, the company plans to keep growing stateside, with another Dallas shop and a new Austin location expected by the end of 2025.

Fans of the U.K. chain are already singing its praises. “Love their coffee! A must!” one raved. “Just moved from London, my favorite coffee brand! Excited you are stateside,” added another.
