Publix is known for many things, including its custom cakes and beloved prepared meal options. The chain’s sandwiches, known as “Pub Subs,” have even developed a cult following due to their crave-worthy options and fresh ingredients. Beyond handhelds, Publix shoppers can’t get enough of the deli’s chicken. It’s so good, in fact, that even celebrities have name-dropped the grocery store as their favorite place to get a golden crispy portion.

Recently, a new flavor of the popular Publix deli item was spotted on shelves, and it’s already getting rave reviews.

Publix’s Baked Jerk Chicken Wings

Publix Baked Jerk Chicken Wings just landed on shelves, giving shoppers a spicy new way to top off their shopping trip. The wings come in packs of 20 and cost around $17, which is less than a dollar per wing. 

Publix’s jerk-seasoned wing tray features a mix of drums and flats seasoned with Walkerswood Hot & Spicy Traditional Jerk Seasoning. For those unfamiliar, Walkerswood is a thick seasoning paste made with ingredients bursting with flavor, such as brown sugar, thyme, and, of course, scotch bonnet peppers.

On Instagram, Trey and Glenda of @tagalongwithuss shared a video review of the wings. “There’s a kick to it. It’s spicy,” one mentions after taking a bite. “I was skeptical because it’s a little light [in color], but it’s actually really good.”

In the comment section, many agreed that Publix’s new baked wings are a winner. “I have tried them. Delicious!” gushes one fan. “Dang, I was gatekeeping these,” joked another. 

And just a word of caution: The jerk seasoning is quite spicy, especially if you’re not used to the kick of scotch bonnet peppers. So if you’re sensitive to heat, be sure to serve these up with a cold drink and a scoop of rice and peas to help mellow out the flavor.

Publix’s Baked Jerk Chicken Wings are only available for a limited time, so be sure to grab a tray (or two!) before they disappear.
