One quick scan in the grocery store, and it’s evident the holiday season is just around the corner. Cozy coffee creamers, baking products, and sweet treats are starting to line grocery shelves—and if we’re being honest, it almost feels like new, seasonal products are being released every day. And, as temperatures finally cool in many parts of the country, we’ll admit, we’re also starting to look forward to the winter holidays.

But if the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes Coffee Creamer and Advent calendars haven’t gotten you in the holiday mood just yet, then maybe 7Up’s latest limited-edition release will.

7Up’s Shirley Temple Flavor Returns to Shelves

7Up

Last year, 7Up introduced its own take on the classic Shirley Temple, and it quickly gained legendary status. It was the first new holiday flavor 7Up had released in nearly 20 years. As one Redditor put it, “It was perfect.” And now, it’s officially back.

Named after the Hollywood star, Shirley Temples are a popular mocktail option that combines ginger ale or lemon-lime soda with grenadine and maraschino cherries. While many might think of Shirley Temples as a cherry-forward drink, it turns out that grenadine is not made with cherries, but pomegranate juice—yes, that revelation blew our minds, too.

Considering that lemon-lime soda is a common base for a Shirley Temple, we’re surprised it took 7Up so long to come up with a Shirley Temple drink of its own. And it seems we were not alone.

When the drink was launched last year, fans were ecstatic. One Redditor even said they traveled from Canada to the United States to try it out. Another fan said that because it was a limited-edition product, they “purchased many, many cases.”

If you’ve been missing 7Up’s Shirley Temple, you’ll be glad to hear that the flavor is now popping up in stores. One Redditor spotted cases at a local Market Basket in Massachusetts, where 12-packs are selling for $6.99. It’s also now available at participating Dollar General stores and Costco. As we inch towards December, we anticipate seeing more retailers offer this limited-time release.

Whether you’re a fan of the classic Shirley Temple or prefer the cocktail version, the Dirty Shirley, you can’t go wrong with 7Up’s festive soda, packed with holiday cheer.
